Loove - Chimerigoose T-Shirt

The “chimeragoose” character is The Loove’s logo and standard-bearer, designed by our inhouse artist, Christine Mantakara of Alchemical Speakeasy.
This creature consists of two human marching legs, a snake or serpent head, a vestigial chicken leg and pig’s tail, a blue arm holding a guitar pick and a crowned goose or swan playing a horn. These various elements are symbolic of Loove’s mission to defiantly and joyfully assert the spirit of free thinking and creative expression in the face of opposition, as represented by the three Buddhist vices of greed, aggression, and indifference.
The swan is the mount of Saraswati, patron goddess of the Loove, also symbolic in Hindu and Buddhist traditions as a creature of exceptional purity and wisdom. The crowned swan with the heart on her chest, playing a horn, also symbolizes the deliberate enthroning of the values of discernment, love and soulful truth in the arts, and her orientation forward shows her as leading the way to spread these values to the world at large.
The serpent is representative of the vice of hatred or aggression.
The pig (its tail forms part of the S in Loove LabS) represents delusion or indifference.
The rooster (whose leg is the third leg of the creature) represents greed.
The orientation of the three vices toward the back of the creature shows their subjugation to the virtues of love, courage, and artistic expression.
The blue arm, the only human aspect outside of the marching legs, is a nod to Vishnu the preserver and protector, and yes he also plays guitar.
